SYDENHAM, LEWISHAM ~ 2017

Our first ever project will see six children from local Primary schools who have been referred by the teachers and mentors take on a program of oceanic education like no other, spanning a school year.

Local swimming pool where it will all start with ocean competence and basic life saving skills.

Beach conservation day (supported by SAS)

After completing the 'Respect for the ocean' element of the course, our little surfers will progress onto the 'Care and Love of the ocean' element.

Working alongside 'Surfers Against Sewage' we will spend a day visiting a beach and helping to clean it up, whilst enjoying all else the beach has to offer and looking forward to getting in!

Learn to surf in the uk!

After learning to respect the ocean and fully participating in the                                                'Young Oceaneers Program'  throughout the year, the group will be taken to North Devon to take on the ocean for real with a fantastic surf school and a long weekend with all the hallmarks o a surf road trip!  The sense of achievement having passed the previous stages, learned the skills and now entered the ocean for the first time will allow these children not only to pass on their love for the ocean but to take on all of life's challenges with a new inner strength that only comes from a connection to the sea!

Graduation as a young URBAN oceaneer!

At the end of the weekend the children will be accompanied to a BBQ and beach evening and encouraged to speak out to the group about their experiences over the year and awarded a Young Urban Oceaneer' award to carry forwards through their life.
